Terms of Service

Version 1.1 · Last updated: October 17, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are the agreement between you and TutorPathway.com ("TutorPathway", "we", "us") for the TutorPathway website and platform (the "Service"). They apply to everyone who visits the website or creates an account: tutors and tutoring centres who use the business software, parents and guardians who use the tutor marketplace, and the staff and family members they invite.

1. About TutorPathway and these Terms

The Service is provided by TutorPathway.com, operated from the United Arab Emirates. You can reach us at any time through our contact page.

The Service has two parts:

  • Business software for independent tutors and tutoring centres ("organizations"): scheduling, student records, learning pathways, assessments, progress reports, invoicing and payment records, messaging with families and optional AI assistance.
  • The TutorPathway marketplace, where it is available: public profiles of identity-checked tutors, search, inquiries and messages between parents and tutors, tutoring requests and proposals, verified reviews and trust & safety tools.

By creating an account, ticking the acceptance box or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The documents that make up our agreement

These Terms apply together with the following documents. Where a document is specific to you, it applies in addition to these Terms; if there is a conflict, the more specific document applies to the subject it covers.

Each document has a version number. When we publish a new version that applies to you, a signed-in marketplace user is asked to read and accept it before continuing. We keep a record of each acceptance (the document, its version, the date and time, your IP address and your browser's user agent) as evidence of what you agreed to. Earlier acceptance records are kept.

3. Who can use TutorPathway

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • Tutors and the owners and staff of an organization must have the authority to act for that organization.
  • Parents and guardians must be the parent or legal guardian of every child they add, and confirm this when they register.
  • There are no independent student accounts. Children do not register or sign in. A parent or guardian manages each child's profile, inquiries and the child workspace. Student accounts created before this change can no longer sign in; their records are kept.
  • You must give accurate information and keep it up to date. You may hold only one marketplace teacher profile.

4. Your account and security

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details confidential and for all activity under your account. We recommend turning on two-factor authentication. Tell us straight away through the contact page if you think your account has been misused.

5. The business software

Organizations use the business software to run their tutoring practice. The organization (not TutorPathway) decides what information about its students, guardians and lessons it records, and is the controller of that information ("customer data"). We process customer data on the organization's behalf to provide the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy.

The organization is responsible for having a lawful basis for the customer data it records, for obtaining any consent required from parents or guardians, for configuring guardian permissions and AI settings, and for answering requests from the people whose data it holds. We help with these obligations as described in our documents.

6. The marketplace

The marketplace helps parents and guardians find tutors and helps tutors find families. TutorPathway runs the platform only:

  • We are not a party to any tutoring arrangement. The agreement for lessons is made directly between the parent or guardian and the tutor. Tutors are independent; they are not our employees, agents or contractors.
  • We do not process payments for lessons. Parents and guardians pay tutors directly, by the method they agree with the tutor. Tutors may issue invoices and record payments using the business software, but TutorPathway does not collect, hold or transfer that money and is not responsible for amounts owed between parents and tutors.
  • "Identity checked" means only that our team reviewed the tutor's Emirates ID and approved it. It is not a check of qualifications, experience, background, criminal record, permits or licences. Profiles are written by the tutors themselves; information such as years of experience is self-declared.
  • We do not guarantee that a tutor will reply, accept an inquiry or be suitable for your child, or any particular educational result.
  • Using the marketplace is free for parents and guardians. Tutors pay for a TutorPathway subscription after their free trial (see below and the Teacher Terms).

7. Subscriptions, trials and payments to TutorPathway

  • Parents and guardians pay nothing to TutorPathway.
  • Tutors and organizations pay a subscription for the business software, and marketplace tutors need an active trial or subscription to read and reply to inquiries. Plans, prices, limits and features are shown on the pricing page.
  • Marketplace tutors get a free trial of 60 days that starts on the day their identity check is approved — not at sign-up. No card is needed for the trial. Other organizations get the trial period shown when they sign up.
  • Subscriptions are sold and billed by our reseller Paddle.com, which is the merchant of record for all subscription orders and AI credit packs. Paddle handles checkout, payment details, invoices, sales tax and VAT, and its own buyer terms apply to your purchase. We do not receive or store full card numbers.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically for the same billing period (monthly or annual) until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the Subscription page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • If a renewal payment fails, you keep full access for a grace period of 7 days. After the grace period, or when a trial ends without a subscription, the workspace becomes read-only: your data stays available to view and export, but you cannot add or change records until you subscribe.
  • Fees are payable in advance. Refunds are handled by Paddle in line with its buyer terms and any refund rights you have under applicable law.
  • AI credit packs are one-time purchases added to the organization's credit balance. Credits have no cash value.
  • We may change prices with reasonable advance notice; changes apply from your next billing period.

8. Acceptable use

Everyone using the Service must follow the Community Guidelines and the Safeguarding Policy. In particular, you must not:

  • use the Service for anything unlawful, harmful, discriminatory or deceptive, or to harass, exploit or endanger anyone — especially a child;
  • contact a child without their parent or guardian's knowledge;
  • create fake profiles, impersonate anyone, write reviews that are not genuine or claim checks or qualifications you do not have;
  • try to get around our contact-detail rules, rate limits, blocks or restrictions;
  • upload content you do not have the right to share, or that contains malware;
  • try to access another person's or organization's data, probe or bypass security controls, or disrupt the Service;
  • scrape the Service or use automated means to overload it.

9. Your content

You keep your rights in the content you add (profiles, photos, videos, messages, reviews, records). You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and process that content only as needed to run the Service — for example, to show a published tutor profile or a published review to the public. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies we must keep for the reasons described in the Privacy Policy (for example under a legal hold).

You are responsible for your content. We may refuse, hold back, hide or remove content that breaks these Terms or our policies, including intro videos (which are shown only after approval) and reviews (see the Review Policy).

10. Trust & safety

Anyone signed in can report a tutor profile, and the people in a marketplace conversation can report that conversation. Reports are reviewed by our platform administrators. The categories, priorities and the steps we can take are described in the Community Guidelines. In summary:

  • While a conversation report is open or being investigated, an administrator who is not part of that conversation may read the recent messages the report refers to. Each time this happens it is recorded in our audit log with the message references. Administrators cannot otherwise read marketplace messages.
  • We may send a warning by e-mail, unpublish a profile, or place one of these restrictions on an account, with or without an end date: a messaging block, a publishing block, an inquiry block, a suspension or a ban.
  • A restriction with an end date stops applying automatically at that time. We may also lift a restriction early.
  • A suspended or banned tutor's profile disappears from search and public pages, they stop receiving inquiries and messages, and their marketplace workspace becomes read-only. A suspended or banned parent or guardian cannot send messages or inquiries, post requests, write reviews or file reports.
  • We may place a legal hold on an account when records must be preserved — for example during an investigation or a legal claim. While a legal hold is active, the records it covers are not deleted or anonymised, even if a deletion was requested or a retention period has ended. Deletion goes ahead once the hold is released.
  • People who file a report only see its status. We never tell a reported person who reported them.

Reporting does not replace the emergency services. If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police first.

11. AI features

The business software includes an optional AI assistant. It is off until an organization owner turns it on. By default, student names are replaced with pseudonyms and e-mail addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, addresses, private notes and learning-needs fields are removed before anything is sent to the AI provider. An owner can choose identified mode only after recording a lawful basis. AI output may be wrong or incomplete and must be checked by a person; content meant for families is saved as a draft and must be approved before it is shared.

Marketplace data — inquiries, messages, tutoring requests, reviews, reports, parent and child profiles — and identity documents are never sent to an AI provider.

12. Intellectual property

TutorPathway and its licensors own the Service, including its software, design, text and documentation. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service in line with these Terms. Starter frameworks and templates in the Service may be copied and adapted for use within the Service. If you send us feedback, we may use it without any obligation to you.

13. Ending your use, account deletion and data export

  • You can request deletion of your account from your account settings at any time. Deletion takes effect after a 30-day grace period, during which you can cancel it. After that your account is anonymised: your name, e-mail address and password are replaced, and your sign-in methods, sessions, notifications and memberships are removed.
  • If you run a workspace on your own (you are its only owner and it has no other owners, administrators or tutors), that workspace is scheduled for closure together with your account, so it is never left without an owner. If others still work in an organization you own, you must hand over ownership first.
  • Records that organizations must keep — such as invoices, payments and audit logs — are kept, linked to the anonymised account. Records under a legal hold are kept until the hold is released.
  • You can download a copy of your personal data at any time from your privacy settings. The download link is available for 7 days.
  • We may suspend or end your access for a serious or repeated breach of these Terms, for non-payment, or to protect users, children or the Service, giving notice where reasonably possible.

14. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We aim to keep it reliable but do not promise uninterrupted availability. We do not guarantee any educational outcome. Analytics, mastery levels, search rankings, ratings and badges are based on the data recorded in the Service and are intended to support, not replace, your own judgement.

15. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, TutorPathway is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, for loss of profit or revenue, or for the acts or omissions of tutors, parents, guardians or other users, including anything that happens during or in connection with lessons. Our total liability arising from these Terms is limited to the amount you paid to TutorPathway (through Paddle) in the twelve months before the claim; for parents and guardians, who pay nothing, it is limited to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

16. Indemnity

You agree to compensate TutorPathway for claims by third parties arising from content you add without the right to do so, from personal data you record without a lawful basis or required consent, or from your breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Each update gets a new version number. For material changes we tell signed-in users within the Service or by e-mail, and marketplace users are asked to accept the new version before they continue.

18. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably will be submitted to the competent courts of the United Arab Emirates. Mandatory consumer or data protection rights that apply to you are not affected.

19. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to us through our contact page.
